King George V Memorial Park is a majestic recreation space, fit for any royal family outing.  Being the largest and busiest recreation park in the Roxburgh area, it has become the most popular rest stop for both locals and travellers alike.

If not making use of the large fenced playground, budding explorers will find there is ample green space available, providing a multitude of opportunities for play and exploration.  Put your culinary skills to the test using the provided barbeque to enhance your picnic lunch. There are many mature oak trees located at King George V Memorial Park providing well needed shade on those blistering Central Otago days.

A short walk from the park will take you up to the Lookout and War Memorial where you will find amazing views over the town centre and Teviot Valley.

King George V Memorial Park is located beside the main road of Roxburgh at the Southern end of town.

What are the sculptures in the King George V Memorial Park?

Two sculptures created by local artist Bill Clarke are located at King George V Memorial Park.  One is a monument commemorating 150 years of pastoral farming in the Teviot Valley. This two tonne steel sculpture features an early pastoral farming scene with a farmer and his dog.

The second sculpture by Bill Clarke is a larger than life stainless steel Hare.  This sculpture was donated to the community by the Rotary Club of Roxburgh and Districts.
