Who is Sally Jory and what is her artistic background?

Sally has a realistic style with an illustrative design focus. In 2013 she completed her studies with The Learning Connexion – School of Creativity and Art based in Hutt City New Zealand.  Here she gained an Advanced Diploma in Art and Creativity. Sally recalls one of the best highlights of the course was having an opportunity to showcase her work at the Saint James Theatre, Wellington.

Previous commissions have involved teaching art to children in schools through REAP- Artist’s in Schools Programme and as a result a number of murals have been completed.

A rewarding and interesting challenge for Sally was tutoring art to inmates at the Otago Correctional Facility at Milburn.

Currently Sally is studying a Diploma of Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy. This is a Mental Health qualification that uses the creative process of art making, to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. Sally aspires to make a difference in people’s lives through creativity.

Where can I see examples of Sally Jory’s work?

Sally’s artwork adorns the side wall of the Millers Flat Community Library and along the side of the Millers Flat School. One of her most enjoyable commissions was in 2018 when given an opportunity to paint a large mural at the Millers Flat Holiday Park.
