About the Teviot Tearooms
Current owners, Simon and Jenny Holmes are mindful of the need to provide a fresh modern array of sandwiches, pies, cakes, ice-creams and refreshments, while respecting the traditions and expectations of the loved kiwi-tearoom experience.
Pastry Chef Jenny, and Baker Simon have been operating the tearooms since 2017. As their previous occupations suggests, and as they will happily admit, they are dedicated ‘foodies’. Originally from Taranaki, they fell in love with Roxburgh when passing through on a campervan holiday around the South Island. Attracted by the community spirit of the town, the village atmosphere, and the family friendly environment, they together with their three children are now proud to call Roxburgh home.
All dine-in and takeaway food offered for sale in the Teviot Tearooms are prepared on the premises, and made fresh daily. “That’s our focus” says Simon, “it must be fresh”, “That’s what our customers expect, and that’s why they keep coming back”. Their intention is to keep it that way.
The Teviot Tearooms are perfectly located on the main street of Roxburgh right in the heart of the township, a favourite stopping point for travellers and residents alike. This is a family friendly premises so bring the whole family, there is something here to suit everyone.
